Now that I have tickets to Berlin booked, I'm in the process of researching the city and trying to figure out what's worth seeing.

My mom said you were planning on going to Berlin so I thought I'd post a quick comment or two (not that I feel like I am an expert on the city, even after almost 3 months here).
I was really surprised by the currywurst--it was way better than expected. Curry36 at the Mehringdamm U-Bahn!
The Turkish food at the Imbisse (food kiosks) is great. Doener, falafel, Turkisch pizza...all delicious and so cheap.
The Turkish Market is on Tuesdays and Fridays and is a lot of fun to visit...it's between Schoenleinstrasse and Kottbusser Tor U-Bahn stops. There's also flea markets everywhere...and Christmas markets are already beginning to appear.
